Historique Loft :

Born in 1946 in Algeria, Patrick Frèche has always been curious of everything and especially about urban culture which inspired him.
Graduated in Economics & Politics Sciences, Patrick Frèche spent the first part of his life in the retail industry. Since he founded Loft Design by… 20 years ago, in 1989.
The brand is all about the designer’s mind and his tastes: art, architecture, music and cinema. That’s why his creations are the exact reflect of an universe and an urban way of life.

The philosophy of Loft Design by… is into refinement and genuine comfort.
The architectural articulation of the garments works around the unifying elements of cut-and-sew knitwear treated as if it have been worn forever.
All tops fit naturally together , and the messages on the t-shirts become a wink to the surrounding world. The maxim “ Art is a dirty job” on the t-shirts as the “ Original” Loft Design by… is reflecting the spirit of the couture atelier.
A particular attention has been given to the packaging and labels, on which you may inscribe your name for evermore.With Loft Design by… you can wear authentic and colourless clothes, focused in their conception in order to casually give an allure of glamour, sensuality and rebellion
Loft Design by… collections tell the story of an universe made of harmony, memories and irreverence but also very influenced by the architecture and the urban world. The brand represents a state of mind, a lifestyle, a contemporary and independent allure, confirming its role as a refined and easy- attitude trendsetter.
Like the buildings or the streets of New York, the collections are graphics, pure, timeless. The colours are soft, very urban (deep greys, beiges, dark blues…). It’s not about fashion, it’s about life.

Since the begining of the brand, the ethical investment is a mean of Loft. For Patrick Frèche, the strenght of a compagny is also, nowadays, to defend a cause and be an active actor in helping the Other.
In the early 2000, Patrick Frèche invited 10 personalities of the cinema, the sport or the medias to promote the Peace and the protection of the Chilhood.
Later, he got much than involve in the « Voyage pour la Paix » which aims to promote and develop the dialogue between people from different origins or religions.
By now, Loft Design by… and Patrick Frèche are working on creating and developing their own association to promote this message of Peace.

The first boutique opened in 1989 in Paris, the concept of the store goes with the life style concept of Loft Design by…..a place to live in harmony with what you wear, a place in town. Other stores opened during the following years and for the 20th birthday, the first store abroad opened in London. There are also many projects of development in majors cities ( Berlin, New York, Buenos Aires… and a second one in London)

Further-more, the brand is distributed in the 2 main department-stores in Paris: Galeries Lafayette and BHV.

Loft Design by… is also distributed in more than 6 countries (USA, Sweden, Greece, Germany, Argentina, Russia, Italy…) in very high selected department stores.
